The 18th tiki sculpture by CrazyAL, "Hibiscus Tiki", is a tiki of great importance.
It has been bestowed with the care of all Hibiscus Flowers. Yes, the very Hibiscus Flowers of our memories.
Tiki #18 holds sentry over those Flowers that we bestowed with determining if you are "Married" or "Single".



Edgar Leeteg's celebrated "Wahine" is an inspiration for carefree living.
In this spirit of the Carefree, Tiki #18 was the Second of CrazyAL's sculptures incorporating Velvet Painting as a tribute to Edgar Leeteg.




CrazyAL incorporates the

CrazyAL's Second "Leeteg" tribute is also the first "Tiki" sculpture to incorporate traditional 'Fijian' Tapa Cloth Design!
In 1995 CrazyAL visited Fiji and experienced the 'small island life' of Beqa, Fiji, before large resort building. There he fell under the spell of Fijian Tapa.
The tapa designs of Fiji, Samoa and Hawaii are indicative of 'Tiki Bar' interiors and featured in lamps in particular.


CrazyAL's Hours of 'Pen-Knife' carving on Tiki#18 is a perfect acknowledgment of the Hand Crafted natural fabric of Polynesia, Tapa!!
The contrasting black and white patterns of Fijian Tapa are carved into the stained natural veneer of the palm tree bark.

Tiki#18, "Hibiscus Tiki" Cir. 1999, was created before the resurgence of 'Poly-Pop' proliferation Internet mimicry.
Tikis with Hibiscus & Tapa could be a thing now!
