This "Third Original Palm Sculpture"
carved in the Early Fall of 1996 was a commission
brought forth by the synergy of 1995's "Tiki Revivalists."

"King Tiki"

is a commission of sorts by
the La Luz de Jesus Gallery, Hollywood CA.
CrazyAL had a blank slate to create a new piece!!
He thought to himself, "why not the King of all Tikis!"
with a Crown, a Scepter, and Conquered Subject.
This third tiki would use the design elements CrazyAL had developed
over the last 5 years and his new 'Bone Productions' Products.
These would be elements such as humanoid fingers, toes, tongue
and hollow geometric eyes and 'Beachcombed' found objects.

CrazyAL had his first Commission for large tikis!!
and a tree gave itself up at just the right time.
And! He could salvage a Root Ball! Days after just finishing his first two tikis,
CrazyAL received a phone call (maybe even an email!?!)
from Otto von Stroheim who was curating one of the first large
'Tiki Art' shows of the new revival scene.
CrazyAL the fledgling Tiki Artist knew he had a giant 'root ball'
back in AZ in his parents' front yard...
Off to AZ he went in late September to get his third tiki done in time
for the October 4th show!!

In Aug 1996 CrazyAL's parents still lived in the house he grew up in.
How cool to crave the another "Art Piece' tiki in the front yard
of Scottsdale AZ that had many a GI Joe Jeep track in it.
CrazyAL and his dad had just removed this dying Palm.

After days of washing dirt from the root ball befor his arrival,
CrazyAL's Mom handed the reigns over for hours of more washing!

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS TIKI!?!
Lost to the cobwebs of the mind, A fine person ran the LA Marathon
and then pick up the King for it's trip to it's new home in N. California.
I always have wanted to know where The King ended up!

Last seen in a Silicon Valley office complex or possibly San Francisco 1999 -2001?
